Deep Steep Facial Steamer TeasFor a complete self care facial start with a deep steep facial steam. Bring about 4 cups of water to an almost boil. Place your tea bag into a large heat proof bowl. Slowly add the hot water to the bowl.
Sitting comfortably lower your head to about 12 inches from the bowl. Cover your head with a towel and allow your face and neck to absorb the steam which will contain vapors of herbs, botanicals, coconut milk, sea salt, and your choice of essential oils.
Continue steaming for about 10 minutes. Pat your face dry and then follow with a toner, then your moisturizer. If you are going to do a mask or a cleansing grain, you would do those after the facial steam, before toning and moisturizing.
If you feel your water is too hot, let your tea bag steep for about 5 minutes until the steam is at a comfortable temperature for you then try again.
It is normal for your face and neck to have redness after a facial steam. The heat of the steam has opened up your pores and let's face it, it's hot under there! It is best to only do a facial steam 1 no more than 2 times a week.
